One Shot At Biker Cancer Benefit For Children "Metalfest" Spanaway WA
June 2, 2012. At Uncle Sam's American Grill. The 16100 block of Pacific Ave South aka The Mountain Highway. Spanaway, WA. The Bikers Fighting Cancer motorcycle club was holding a benefit concert at the bar and grill to raise money for families with children who are fighting cancer. Several different clubs attended the event. A member of the Ghostriders club arrived in a red station wagon, confronted a BFC member who had gone out to his motorcycle and shot him. The victim ran across the busy highway to get away from the shooter. Other BFC members and other attendees fought the assailant getting the gun away from him, and staying on top of the gunman until law enforcement arrived and arrested him. Central Pierce Fire and Rescue responded and transported the injured party who was shot in the arm and will survive.
The concert continued while the Pierce County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol investigated the shooting. A heavy police presence remained at the scene to prevent further violence.
